There are many Indian Government websites which provides a lot of information and /or services to the citizens either in business or for personal purpose. We are trying to list some of those websites and a brief introduction to the services offered by them.
The National Portal of India, india.gov.in, is the single online window to the online services of Indian government.
The Central Excise and Customs website offers the forms, acts and rules related to Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax and FTT/IATT. You could also find baggage rules and travelers information here. They also have a set of online services for end customers.
The MCA is mainly concerned with administration of the Companies Act, 1956, and the related acts associated with corporates. The MCA also oversee three key professional bodies like Institute of Chartered Accountants of India(ICAI), Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) and the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) which are constituted under three separate Acts. The eServices section of the MCA website offers a wide range of services including acquiring and registering digital signatures, applying Director Identification Number, eFilling and Annual Filing assistance and forms; in addition, you can track the payment status as well as any other transactions.
Another key website under the MCA umbrella is the LLP website. The LLP is still not a well known business model in India. It would be interesting to see if any of you have set up an LLP company.
Department of Information Technology (under Ministry of Communication & Information Technology(MCIT))
The DIT website offers a wide range of information on IT and related subjects including the Cyber Law’s of India. The download page offers the regional language font downloads.The MCIT oversee the departments like CCA, CDAC and many others including .in registry.
The DIT website also provides information related to IT Industry, eGovernance plan, various IT Policies and more importantly about the National Digital Library
The UIDAI is primarily formed to provide identification for each residents in India something similar to the Social Security number in United States. The website supports the use of various screen readers
The Tata Memorial Centre is the national comprehensive cancer centre for the prevention, treatment, education and research in Cancer and is recognised as one of the leading cancer centres in this part of the world.
The MSME provides information on setting up an enterprise and a bunch of information related to running businesses
The Passport Seva project is one of the most used websites in India by the common man of India. The services offered include Online passport application, re-issue of passports, application of police clearance certificate, track status of the applications and checking the appointment availability.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj provides enormous amount information related to Panchayati Raj. Any information you may want o know about the panchayat, this is the place to visit.
Provides information about the electoral process of India including the voter registration
The Government of India web directory provides information on almost all the government websites in India. Many of the sites linked from this directory are not accessible for some reason
