Slideshare yesterday announced that they are ditching flash for HTML5. This enables the site to deliver the presentations hosted by it in the mobile platform. You may recall that the flash was ditched by iPhone earlier which triggered this series and now SlideShare joins the noflash club. This gives SlideShare users a cross-platform, rich media experience. This gives the users the following benefits:
- the slides will display flawlessly on an iPhone, iPad, Android and any other mobile platform.
- the slides will now load 30% faster. On the web, faster is better.
- the slides will be a part of the web. No plugins or downloads are required to view them. This is the most important thing. No Plug-ins.
- Search engines can easily index the words in HTML-based Slideshare presentations, which means they’re more likely to show up in search results.
