Dr Moodhi Al Hamood, Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Higher Education, announced that the academic year for a group of schools has been postponed as a preventive measure in dealing with swine flu, reported the official Kuwait News Agency (Kuna).
Dr Moodhi said the academic year for kindergartens, private schools, kindergartens that are part of the ministry of social affairs, and special needs schools will be pushed to September 10.
Public schools under the supervision of the Ministry of Education will start on September 27.
The minister also outlined plans to train teachers and administrators on how to deal with suspected swine flu cases, like taking temperatures, using masks, and teaching students the best preventive measures.
