This time Google has come up with an active doodle instead of a static image. This is the most wonderful doodle of this year and probably the yester-years.From today till Christmas Google’s home-page doodle will feature 17 interactive cartoonish illustrations. These images are mostly of people and places; however some of them are about foods.
Each of the 17 illustrations can be expanded and clicked on to reveal its inspiration.
The landmarks and tourist destinations depicted include St. Basil’s Cathedral in Russia; The Acropolis of Athens; Mount Fuji in Japan; The Great Wall of China. There are also the marine scenes of Venetian gondolas and Sydney Harbour, as well as the aridity of the Sahara desert.
The rendered food includes a Buche de Noel dessert log; Pierogi dumplings; and chili peppers, and there are also the lush vineyards of Chile.
There are such distinctively beautiful items as African kangas and Moroccan henna lamps. And performance scenes include Indian dancers and Oud players and Nepalese singers.
And then with a nod to a specific song, there is Santa’s reindeer-and-rooftop scene that renders Benjamin Hanby’s Christmas song “Up on the House Top.”
The colors and layout of the doodle roughly approximate the Mountain View, Calif., company’s “Google” logo, and that’s how they make it as the logo 🙂
